What is the Festival all about?
Women In Badminton is excited to announce our first Festival to celebrate badminton, a sport which is accessible and widely played across the country.
Our purpose is to bring people together to encourage more women and girls to get active and play badminton. It’s a fun sport that can be played at any level, recreationally and professionally. A sport where everyone can make friends and get fit at the same time.
From my own experience, I played in my youth and then work, and life took over which made it harder to get back into the sport. However, through the wonderful support of friends and local clubs, they have helped me to become more active and engage in the sport which I love even more. Through speaking to many women, I know I am not alone in this. It’s inspired and made me passionate about getting more women and girls active and playing badminton as a sport.
